truly thought of everything when it came to proposing to girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague, including making sure one of her favourite singers was there for the special moment.Â
fans are celebrating the news that Tommy and Molly, who met on the ITV2 programme in 2019, are on their Ibiza holiday on Sunday.Â
The smitten couple announced the news on Instagram with a short video montage of the moment Tommy proposed while holding their six-month-old daughter Bambi.Â
It was soundtracked by The Vow, a stunning ballad by Irish singer Ruth-Anne Cunnigham, which Molly has previously revealed her love for on .
Ruth-Anne, 39, has now spoken out about what it was like to be a part of the life-changing moment for the couple, after being specially flown out to the Spanish party island by Tommy himself.
In an Instagram post alongside behind-the-scenes footage of her serenading the proposal, the musician wrote: ‘A pinch me moment! Congratulations @tommyfury @mollymae on your engagement & I can’t believe I got to be there to sing your song #thevow live for this most amazing proposal (good planning Tommy).
‘Molly had no idea and I know how much this song means to them & wow the most stunning location I have ever sang it in. And for the most beautiful couple.’
She added: ‘I sang my heart out just for you today. So amazing to finally meet you in person and sing this song for you. This is why I write music and wow what a moment. #thevow.’
In her Instagram stories, RuthAnne added: ‘Guys, I just sang The Vow for Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague’s engagement. I have not been able to tell anyone, I have been sworn to secrecy, I have not told a soul.
‘They’ve always been huge fans of the song and Molly-Mae has been DMing me about how much it means to them and how she would want it to be part of her wedding, engagement whatever.
‘And Tommy did all of this, she had no idea. He did such an amazing job. He flew me here to sing The Vow live for them as they got engaged. I have never sung The Vow for an engagement before, I was trying not to cry.
‘I am so happy I could be here and we did it and I am so happy.’
The song particularly has special meaning for Molly and Tommy as it was played during the finale of their journey on Love Island four years ago.Â
Tommy and Molly, both 24, are one of Love Island’s biggest success stories with the two remaining together since finishing in second place behind Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea. They quickly moved in together and bought their first house, a sprawling Manchester mansion, last year.
In January, they welcomed their baby girl Bambi and will now be busy planning their wedding.Â
After announcing their engagement, the couple were showered with congratulatory messages from the likes of Maya Jama and Maura Higgins.
