has paid tribute to his late father Mick with a special tattoo to commemorate him 15 months after his death.
The former star, 34, has been open about losing his father, who took his own life last year, with Kirk finding his body.
The 57-year-old was , on January 21 2020.
At the inquest into Norcross’ death, a coroner said that ‘financial worries seemed to be at the forefront of his mind’ prior to him taking his own life.
Now, Kirk has revealed that he’s got a tattoo in tribute to Norcross, in a touching post on his Instagram account.
Taking to the social media platform, the TV personality shared a photograph of the new tattoo, alongside the caption: ‘FOR YOU DAD!!! You are my anchor! You keep me still during the roughest storms in life!! Until we meet again Dad miss you ❤️❤️❤️’
The tattoo, on his right arm, is of an anchor and features ‘Dad’ at its centre. It also includes the date of Norcross’ death: ’21-1-21.’
The post was shared with his 166,000 followers on the social media platform, and it has amassed more than 11k likes since it was posted.
The business owner has opened up about in the aftermath of his father’s death.
Discussing how he felt after losing his father, Kirk later said in an interview: ‘I wanted to die. I planned what I would be wearing, what I was going to do.’
The father-of-two added: ‘I had to shout myself back from the thought of it and I went to speak to my dad’s partner. Immediately talking about it made me feel better.
Kirk has become an ambassador for the charity , which aims to prevent young people from taking their own lives. He described his role with the charity as ‘an honour’.
He said: ‘If it wasn’t for my kids I’d probably not be here myself. It’s a real honour to be an ambassador for something that is so close to my heart. I want to help others.’
The reality star also revealed that he’s been suffering from , and he admitted: ‘In some ways, I’m pleased it was me who found him but it will be etched in my mind for the rest of my life.
‘When I realised he’d passed, I lay next to his body, kissed him on the head and said: “thank you for everything you did dad and sorry for all I have done. I promise I’ll do my best.” It was that moment he died I became a man. I knew I had to try and make him proud.’
