Vanderpump Rules fans were left reeling when the season 11 trailer appeared to reveal that in Las Vegas – and now Katie Maloney has had her say on the matter.
In case you’ve had one too many Pumptinis, the explosive last series kicked off with Maloney and Schwartz announcing their after over a decade of dating, and five years of marriage.
However, that was that Tom Sandoval had been cheating on Ariana Madix with their castmate, Raquel Leviss, with the gang currently picking up the pieces in new episodes.
Ahead of the latest instalment – which airs on Bravo on Tuesdays, before popping up on Peacock and hayu – the Something About Her owner spoke to Metro.co.uk to , and where she stands with the pair now.
When asked about the fallout, the 37-year-old told us: ‘All I’ll say is I think it will be a surprise how that all reveals itself, and what the reactions were.
‘I don’t want to give away too much, I know Scheana has said, “I didn’t make out with him”.
‘Given that I am very much healed from my relationship with Tom Schwartz, I obviously have a different perspective on everything now.
‘I’ve been on my healing journey from my divorce post Tom, and separated myself from that relationship, and from him. I was really open to dating, and just having fun and embracing that side of myself that I haven’t explored for a long time.
‘You’re definitely going to see more of that attitude, and that side of me.’
Another part of the teaser that rocked viewers that Madix had received after news of Sandoval’s affair with Leviss emerged.
At the very end of the footage, the former Sur hostess declared: ‘I have never experienced someone who gets cheated on and suddenly she becomes God.’
Addressing her pal’s intention, Maloney insisted that Kent isn’t ‘jealous’ of Madix’s recent success – including her Dancing With The Stars efforts and current Broadway stint.
‘To be honest, I don’t really know what she’s talking about. I know she’s saying you’ll understand why I said that…,’ she continued. ‘I don’t believe that she’s jealous, I don’t believe that that came from a point of being jealous of the opportunities that Ariana has got.
‘I think Lala has been extremely supportive and happy for Ariana, so I don’t know what she means by, “You’ll understand why I’ve said that.”‘
‘Lala is one of my closest friends, I love Lala so much. I think when Ariana and I began working more heavily on the restaurant – when we got the space and then almost a year ago is when we actually began the design portion of it all – I became busier with that whole part of everything, and she spends a lot of time in Palm Springs.
‘We just weren’t spending as much time together but it wasn’t like we weren’t close or anything like that. Her and Scheana spent a lot of time together because of [their daughters], and they’re really close.
‘There’s a lot of things that we have different going on in our lives but it doesn’t mean that we’re not still close or great friends. I don’t have a kid so I’m not going to the park and playdates, and things like that.’
There is no denying that Scandoval gripped the entire world and thrust the Bravo cast even more into the spotlight – Madix and Kent famously headed to Washington for the Correspondents Dinner alongside Lisa Vanderpump.
Adele, Jennifer Lopez and Chrissy Teigen were among on the wild cheating drama.
Discussing the ever-changing dynamics between the friend group in the wake of a tough year, Maloney shed light on where they all stood, adding: ‘Everyone was trying to figure out how they wanted to approach their relationships respectively, with certain people.
‘Everyone is in their own right, they can do what they want with that. I definitely had my own opinions and was pretty firm on those. So, it was just trying to feel people out and understand their perspectives on things.
‘Maybe we didn’t all agree on those things – trying to not let that completely divide us was the biggest challenge.’
Vanderpump Rules continues on Tuesdays on Bravo in the US and is available to stream on hayu the same day.
