Victoria Beckham awkwardly celebrates ‘Mr and Mrs Beckham’ after Brooklyn’s wedding despite her son taking Nicola Peltz’s name

has confirmed that he’s taken his wife ’s name, but it seems that his mum Victoria failed to get the memo.

Brooklyn, 23, and the 27-year-old Transformers star have combined their last names to become the Peltz Beckhams after their star-studded nuptials at the in Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday.

After the couple tied the knot, the photographer-turned chef promptly changed his Instagram handle to include Nicola’s family name, altering it to brooklynpeltzbeckham.

He also shared a gorgeous photograph of the couple during the ceremony, and captioned it: ‘Mr. & Mrs. Peltz Beckham.’ 

Meanwhile, his actress bride Nicola has also followed suit, changing her handle to ‘nicolaannepeltzbeckham’ on her official page.

However, in what could be seen as an awkward gaffe, straight after the couple married, Victoria referred to the couple as ‘Mr and Mrs Beckham’ in an Instagram post.

In the post, she wrote: ‘Congratulations Mr and Mrs Beckham X Welcome to the family x’

Despite the apparent slip-up, new daughter-in-law Nicola wasn’t fazed, and she replied simply: ‘Thank you’.

Before the nuptials, a source close to Victoria and David’s eldest son spoke to , revealing that the star would be taking Nicola’s name.

‘Brooklyn is head over heels for Nicola – it’s a huge sign of his commitment to her, and his love for her,’ they spilled.

Brooklyn and wife Nicola first met in 2017 at Coachella, but didn’t start dating until they bumped into each other again in 2019.

The eldest of the Beckham children proposed in June 2020, and the couple initially had planned to tie the knot last year.

After being forced to delay their nuptials due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they set the big day for Saturday, with (£2.3m).

After the event, Brooklyn paid tribute to his ‘beautiful bride’ in a post on his Instagram account.

Alongside a photo of Nicola in her stunning Valentino wedding dress, Brooklyn wrote: ‘My beautiful bride,’ with two heart emoji. 

Nicola also returned to social media as a wife and thanked Valentino team for creating her ‘dream dress’, before sharing a photo of her beloved father and writing: ‘Thank you for the most beautiful weekend of my life. You’re the wind beneath my wings.’
