Wanda Sykes has revealed that she still ‘can’t talk about’ ’s Oscars slap.
The King Richard actor left Hollywood reeling at the ceremony in March, over a joke the comedian made regarding .
He returned to his seat in the audience where he warned the star to ‘keep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth.
The 50-year-old , and resigned from the Academy over the incident, but host Wanda is still ‘traumatized’ by what happened.
Speaking at a comedy show in Florida on Thursday, she reportedly told the crowd; ‘I’m still traumatized.
‘I can’t talk about it. I get emotional.
‘I couldn’t believe he was still sitting there, like an assh**e. Shouldn’t you be sitting there with a lawyer or LAPD, motherf**ker?
‘I hope he gets his s**t together. Until then, f**k him.’
Following the attack, for King Richard and sobbed through his winning speech, apologizing to the Academy and his fellow nominees.
on social media, admitting that he was ‘embarrassed’ by his actions.
over the incident and fumed at bosses over the ‘gross’ decision to allow him to stay in the venue and collect his trophy.
Appearing on the Ellen Show after the awards, she said: ‘I just felt so awful for my friend Chris. It was sickening. I physically felt ill and I’m still a little traumatized by it.
‘And for them to let him [Will] stay in that room and enjoy the rest of the show and accept his award, I was like, “How gross is this? This is just the wrong message”.
‘If you assault somebody, you get escorted out the building and that’s it. But for them to let him continue, I thought it was gross.’
While Chris has hit the road as part of his comedy tour, Will has kept a low profile since Oscars bosses confirmed that he would be banned from events for a decade.
Academy president David Rubin said in an open letter at the time: ‘The 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration of the many individuals in our community who did incredible work this past year; however, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior we saw Mr Smith exhibit on stage.
‘During our telecast, we did not adequately address the situation in the room. For this, we are sorry. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers and our Academy family around the world, and we fell short — unprepared for the unprecedented.
‘Today, the Board of Governors convened a meeting to discuss how best to respond to Will Smith’s actions at the Oscars, in addition to accepting his resignation.
‘The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards.
‘We want to express our deep gratitude to Mr Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances. We also want to thank our hosts, nominees, presenters and winners for their poise and grace during our telecast.
‘This action we are taking today in response to Will Smith’s behavior is a step toward a larger goal of protecting the safety of our performers and guests, and restoring trust in the Academy. We also hope this can begin a time of healing and restoration for all involved and impacted.’
