And although fans will (hopefully) know that Hollyoaks is a fictional village, they may be wondering where the action takes place.

Where is Hollyoaks filmed?
Although the soap is set in Chester, Hollyoaks is filmed around an hour away, at Lime Pictures’ studios in Childwall, Liverpool.
The exterior sets attempt to recreate styles familiar to Chester, such as the city walls and Tudor cladding.
However, Hollyoaks has filmed in Chester itself – in 2017, filming took place at The Groves, on the River Dee.
They also filmed on Queen’s Park suspension bridge and in the Roman Gardens.
In fact, the soap used to shoot more regularly in the city centre of Chester, but it became too expensive to move the production between Chester and Liverpool, as reported by .
As well as the Liverpool base, Lime Pictures has studios in London, Leeds, and Los Angeles. It’s home to a number of TV shows, like ’s Zero Chill and ’s The Evermoor Chronicles.
Can you visit the Hollyoaks set?
Unfortunately, Lime Pictures does not offer tours of the Hollyoaks set.
While you can explore the city of Chester to get a feel for where the characters would live, you won’t get to see the streets of Hollyoaks themselves.
