Bridgerton fans don’t have long to wait until the highly-anticipated spin-off hits .

The limited series will  of ’s Queen Charlotte from the original programme.

According to the streaming platform, the series will be ‘centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power’.

‘This Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton,’ the description reads. 

Golda Rosheuvel will reprise her role as the monarch, while India Amarteifio will be playing the  in the six-parter.

But when does it air, and where is it set in the Here’s everything you need to know.

Where is Queen Charlotte set in the Bridgerton timeline? Is it a prequel?

The period drama is set decades before the events of Bridgerton and centers around Queen Charlotte’s rise to power as well as her early love story with King George III.

The first season of the period drama followed Daphne Bridgerton’s (Phoebe Dynevor) debut on the marriage market, which was in the summer of 1813.

The second season which focused on Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) journey to the altar and is set exactly one year later. However, Queen Charlotte arrived in England from , so 52 years before the beginning.

The trailer opens with the young Queen Charlotte traveling in a horse-drawn carriage demanding: ‘Why me?’ to her companion.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a Bridgerton spin-off without some steamy scenes, and King George (Corey Mylchreest) is seen whipping off Charlotte’s clothes as they lock lips.

As they get ready to enjoy married life, Charlotte is warned about her standing and is told by a courtier: ‘You’re the first of your kind. You need to secure your position.’

When appearing on, India advised some of her family before tuning into the show.

After being questioned more by the talk show host as to why, she explained that some of the scenes are a ‘little bit racy and not for the eyes’.

The Queen Charlotte series will be available to binge on Netflix this Thursday (May 4).

Last month actresses Golda and India revealed just how much detail went into making sure that there was of the queen at different stages of her life.

‘One little thing I can say is can you see the difference here, can you see any kind of difference?’ Golda said, pointing to her face while sitting next to India on the sofa.

‘The little moles,’ The One Show’s Alex Jones responded, as the actress went on to explain: ‘So, I have little moles, which were cast. They made two casts and in the show, India has the moles.’

‘[Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is] not the world that we see in Bridgerton, at all. And I think that’s what’s great about Queen Charlotte, is that it sets the foundation for Bridgerton,’ India explained.

‘We find out why society is so diverse and beautiful. She is a 17-year-old girl. Historically, came from Germany, didn’t speak any English, to marry a monarch, the most powerful monarch of the time.

‘[She] was coming into a society where she is the only person of any kind of ethnic minority in such a high status.’

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story premieres on Netflix on Thursday May 4.
