Who is The Voice coach Anne-Marie?
Anne-Marie Rose Nicholson – who works under the name Anne-Marie – is an English singer and songwriter.
The star, aged 31, has been nominated for 10 Brit Awards since emerging on the pop scene in 2016.
Anne-Marie has been releasing music since her breakthrough nearly five years ago, but she has always had showbiz in her blood.
As a child, she appeared in two West End productions: Les Misérables when she was six, and Whistle Down the Wind when she was 12.
In the latter production, she would appear alongside Jessie J, who as it happens has also been a coach on The Voice UK.
Anne-Marie joined the long-running TV series as a coach in 2021, replacing on the panel after the US star .
She won her first series as coach, with Scottish act Craig Eddie, and is back for the 2022 series along with Sir Tom, Will.i.am and Olly Murs.
What are some of Anne-Marie’s songs?
After cutting her teeth working with demos and providing guest vocals to bands including Rudimental, Anne-Marie released Alarm, the first single from her debut album Speak Your Mind in May 2016.
The album peaked at number three and was certified Platinum in the UK.
Another hit single from the album, Ciao Adios, peaked in the UK chart at number nine.
In 2018, Anne-Marie released single Friends in collaboration with Marshmello.
The track hit number four in the UK chart, while her next single 2002 reached number three shortly after.
Another 2018 track, Rewrite The Stars, featured singer James Arthur and hit the number seven spot.
Anne-Marie’s biggest 2018 hit was alongside British electronic group Clean Bandit.
Providing lead vocals to their track Rockabye – which also featured Sean Paul – the song spent nine consecutive weeks at number one, and gained the coveted Christmas number one.
In 2021, her second album, Therapy, was released, and so followed a number of new hits, including Don’t Play with KSI and Digital Farm Animals, which charted at number two.
Collaborations with Niall Horan and Little Mix, Our Song and Kiss My (Uh Oh), reached 13 and 10 on the UK charts respectively.
Overall, she’s had six UK Top 10 tracks and 15 Top 40s.
