The grand final of will soon be upon us, with already looking certain to take the top spot in light of .

Saturday night will see the PalaOlimpico in Turin, Italy light up for who will sing their hearts out for the ultimate European title.

But will last year’s winners continue tradition and return to the stage to perform once more? Here’s what you need to know.

Who won Eurovision in 2021?

For Eurovision fans this won’t be hard to remember, but ‘Zitti E Buoni’ won Italian band the 2021 competition hands down, which is why this year’s final is being held in the city of Turin

The band are a rock group based in Rome who have seen huge success in their home country, with a number one single, Torna A Casa, three number two hits, and two chart-topping albums so far on top of their Eurovision hit.

They are led by singer Damiano David, with Victoria De Angelis on bass, Thomas Raggi on guitar, and Ethan Torchio on drums.

Måneskin came first with 524 points, followed by France on 499 and Switzerland on 432. It is also the year the UK scored ‘nil point’ for the second time in the competition’s history.

To date, they have more than 4.5 billion listens to their name across all digital platforms, and have amassed ten diamond, 185 platinum and 42 gold records globally.

Will they be performing at the 2022 grand final?

Måneskin has confirmed they will be playing at the final on Saturday night – as is tradition. Italian broadcaster Rai confirmed the news earlier this month, following speculation about whether they would return to the competition to perform.

Watch their legendary performance after winning the 2021 contest below, featuring the moment frontman Damiano David shouted ‘rock and roll never dies’ to a rapturous applause from the audience.

But viewers on Saturday night won’t be seeing Måneskin perform their Eurovision-winning son ‘Zitti E Buoni’. Instead, to the delight of fans, they will be treating the audience to a live premiere of their new single ‘Supermodel’, which was released on Friday.
