David Letterman has now confirmed that he will be sitting down with the 53-year-old as part of the next season of his Netflix series, with episodes landing on the platform this month.
A tweet from the official Netflix account reads: ‘Cardi B, , Ryan Reynolds, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kevin Durant, and Will Smith will be the guests on the new season of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. Premieres May 20.’
However, according to reports, the chat was filmed before the incident.
Despite some huge names on the list, there was only one star that fans were concentrating on.
Reacting to the post, one commented: ‘Well that Will Smith interview should be interesting……’
Another yelled: ‘LMAOOOO NAH WHEN DID HE TALK TO WILL???????’
Questioning when the chat took place, a follower said: ‘Will Smith! Please tell me this was filmed post slap.’

Hollywood was left reeling when the Fresh Prince star confronted Chris on stage at the star-studded ceremony, slapping him over a quip concerning Jada.
After returning to his seat, he yelled from the audience: ‘Keep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth’.
Shortly after, he appeared on stage to collect his Oscar for best actor, for his stint in King Richard, and apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees.
He later issued an apology to Chris and – but is still able to be nominated.
