Rey Mysterio paid an emotional tribute to the late, great Eddie Guerrero at 39.
The was driven out into SoFi Stadium with Snoop Dogg behind the wheel of a classic low rider as Nuthin But A G Thang blared out.
Suddenly, a shout of ‘Viva La Raza’ rang out as Guerrero’s iconic theme music hit and the entire stadium got to their feet chanting Eddie’s name.
It was a massively meaningful moment, given, including a match between Rey and Eddie the last time WrestleMania went Hollywood back in 2005.
It was a fitting way for Rey to hit the ring as he came out to face his son Dominik Mysterio as their bitter rivalry came to the grandest stage.
Prison Dom had a special entrance of his own, with a vignette showing him being led out by prison guards before he was brought into the stadium in a truck flanked by police motorbikes.
To add insult to injury, Dom was wearing one of his father’s iconic masks, playing mind games before the match even got underway.
The father and son duo both delivered here, with the younger Mysterio holding his own against his era defining dad.
Of course, Rey’s wife Angie and daughter Aliyaah got involved too, playing into the story brilliantly before Legado Del Fantasma took out Judgment Day to eliminate the numbers game.
There was another huge twist to the tale as Bad Bunny stopped Dom from cheating with a chain, leaving him open to the match-winning 619.
It could have Backlash implications, with the Grammy Award-winning musician set to host the event in Puerto Rico next month – and on this evidence, he could have an even bigger role.
