Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin insists he will get involved with 39 in some capacity if Vince McMahon puts in the call.

The Texas Rattlesnake stunned fans by competing in his in Dallas earlier this month, and he won’t rule out an appearance at next year’s edition in Hollywood.

Austin noted he never expected to be back in the ring this year, so he’s keeping his options open – even if he doesn’t think he’ll be working another match.

He laughed: ‘Well, for me to participate in WrestleMania 38, if you would’ve told me, “Hey man, you’re gonna be a part of WrestleMania 38. Not only that, you’re gonna main event night one”, I would’ve said you’re full of s**t and you’re crazy.

‘And there I was in Dallas, Texas, headlining main event on day one so, never say never, but I would really imagine that within the scope of that show, that’s gonna be a big show in a big time city and it’ll be a two-night event again so, I’m not — I’m sure I’m done wrestling per se, but as a part of WWE, I can’t imagine I would not be there in some capacity.

‘And I’m not booking myself on the show because I didn’t book myself on 38. That’s a Vince thing and I have a great relationship with him and if I get the call, I’ll be there.’

Speaking on the , Stone Cold also gave an update on his physical status after his No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 38, which saw him take a suplex onto concrete during a thrilling brawl.

He added: ‘Oh, I’m 100%. I picked up a little bit of a cold the other day but I’m back home in Nevada. Shoot, [on the Saturday], I was 100% and of course went back in action on Sunday, did a little extra physicality as a part of the show.

‘But, you know, it’s just an exciting time for me to back to a business that I really, really love and you know, I never thought I’d be back in a ring but, there we were headlining, main event for the — headlining WrestleMania for night one and it was just truly an honor to be out there.’

Austin’s opponent towards the end of 2021, and while he didn’t know where he’d be a few months later, he was glad to see his WrestleMania moment turn out to be so special.

‘One thing’s unrelated to another – or it terms of me signing anyway,’ he exclusively told Metro.co.uk the day before their match.

‘But it’s obviously – to get to be the one to do it, there’s a lot of very talented and competent WWE superstars out there. For me to be the one in this situation, it’s a huge honour and I don’t take it lightly.’
