legend Booker T was forced to miss Sunday’s NXT Vengeance Day show for medical reasons.
The 58-year-old star had been expected to join his weekly co-star Vic Joseph at the announce table of the premium live event, but in the build-up to the show he revealed he wouldn’t be on commentary after all.
‘I will not be at #NXTVengenceDay tonight and I’ll be off TV the next couple weeks due to a medical procedure I had to have,’ he explained to fans on X.
However, insisted he’s ‘all good’ as he thanked fans for their ‘support’ while he’s off screen.
He added: ‘But – I’m all good and I’ll be back in action on @WWENXT in no time! Thank you all for your support, couldn’t do it with out the people. Shucky Ducky!’
He was replaced on the commentary team by five-time, who recently formed a new partnership with Corey Graves on SmackDown.
Taking to X after returning to the NXT desk, he said: ‘#VengeanceDay was everything I hoped for & more. Blown away by the future of @WWE. The standard has risen again and people got themselves noticed in a big way tonight.
‘Thrilling to be back under the bright lights of #WWENXT. Simply the most fun place that exists in our entire industry and I’ll always love returning home. Unbeatable culture.
‘Even @VicJosephWWE behaved himself admirably. Thanks, jousting partner. We’ll meet again. 👊🏻’
It’s unclear who will side by Vic’s side over the next fornight.
On Friday, Wade and Corey delighted fans as the new SmackDown pairing after for Monday Night Raw, and the latter admitted it was a terrifying prospect taking on play-by-play duties.
He tweeted after the show: ‘I haven’t been that nervous in years. A new role. A new mountain. A new challenge.
‘There will be bumps in the road. There is plenty of room for improvement. But, as a lifelong fan, it is an honor. I will do my best to do right by you. #SmackDown’
