LA Knight has and the entire Universe behind him as he’s going into Money In The Bank, and it’s been a long time coming.
The veteran turned overnight sensation has become a huge hit with audiences around the world, and that was even more obvious on Friday nighton the eve of a potentially career changing night as he faces the likes of Logan Paul and Ricochet in a high stakes Ladder Match.
Speaking about his rise to the top just one day before the massive event, he exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘A lot of me is like, I told you so! But at the same time, you never know for sure.
‘All I can do is come out and do my thing, and just know. I always knew that I had something to offer. I always knew that I could make this work. It’s just a matter of getting that opportunity and man, I’ve made the damnedest of that opportunity.’
Matches like this are always high risk, high reward, but Knight isn’t going to be drawn into trying to emulate some of his highflying opponents.
‘You’re about to get beat up, whether you win or you don’t, everybody’s gonna come out of this a bit different,’ he explained. ‘You’ve got some guys who are gonna do some flip-a-dee-doo-das, all that kind of stuff.
‘I ain’t worried about that. I’m gonna be simple, I’m gonna be effective. I’m gonna do the most effective thing that means the most at any given time to make sure I can climb that ladder and take that case down.’
It’s been a long time coming for a man who, even a decade ago, was on the independent scene with by his side.
The groundswell of support has been incredible to see, with Logan riding the wave – and while he can’t figure out exactly why he’s connecting with the fans in this moment, he’s happy to embrace it.
‘Since coming on the scene here, it’s been a big thing where it’s like – the one video I keep seeing, everybody keeps posting this on Instagram, Twitter, it’s like, “I can’t believe this is only six months apart,”‘ he smiled.
‘Look, I can’t put my finger on what that is, why that is. But at this point, we’re rolling into Money In The Bank with a whole lot of momentum!’
