WWE star Ridge Holland quits Twitter after backlash over Elton Prince injury

star Ridge Holland has deactivated his Twitter account after being blamed over Elton Prince suffering a separated shoulder on SmackDown.

The Brawling Brutes star, who to take on Elton and his Pretty Deadly partner Kit Wilson on Friday night, is no longer on the social media platform after deleting a tweet addressing his critics.

During the bout with Sheamus and Ridge Holland, Elton took a nasty fall and suffered a painful injury which will rule him out of action for a few weeks.

Ridge has taken to to defend himself after some criticism over the incident.

The former rugby star has been criticised by fans in the past after Big E broke his neck taking a back body drop from him in May 2022, despite the former world champion going on record to say Ridge wasn’t to blame.

Responding to Elton’s injury, Ridge tweeted: ‘So to set people straight before they get all p**sy! It wasn’t the belly to belly…. it was a wonky landing from the pounce.

‘Out of my control. Wishing @EltonPrince_PD a speedy recovery.’

Now, Ridge has left Twitter, and his account doesn’t appear to be active as there is now an error message in its place, which explains that ‘this account doesn’t exist’.

Fans have rallied behind him, with one supporter tweeting: ‘Twitter disappointing me even more each day, the fact that Ridge Holland was harassed to the point of deactivation shows how pathetic some of you are, Big E himself said keep off his back yet some people will still do anything for clout.’

Ridge previously the fallout from Big E’s injury on his own mental health, and has defended him after vile social media abuse.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk a few months after the incident, the Englishman said: ‘It was a massive knock to my confidence. The main thing is that E’s functional, he’s OK, he’s gonna live a full life.’

He noted his desire to ‘wash that stain’ off his back and get rid of the ‘stigma’ while gaining the ‘trust’ of his fellow professionals.

‘It’s just been a slow process, getting back into it and learning how to trust myself, and obviously building that trust up with the boys as well. The trust of your peers is what we aim for,’ he explained, while repeatedly noting that the real focus is on Big E and his recovery.
