official Adam Pearce has revealed Sonya Deville has been fined .
On Monday night’s show, Deville – who was recently reinstated as a talent after herself – reacted badly after losing to Alexa Bliss for the second week in a row and struck the referee, drawing boos from the crowd.
Appearing on WWE’s The Bump, Pearce has addressed the incident and revealed his former co-worker will be punished for her actions.
He said: ‘My former colleague Sonya Deville has been fined for her, shall we say, misbehaviour. Her actions and putting her hands on our referee – we were forced to fine her.
‘I’m gonna keep the amount between Sonya and I – suffice to say, this will be inhibited going forward. I think Sonya will have learned a lesson, hopefully.’
When Kayla Braxton suggested Sonya should have known better, Pearce agreed and described her storyline actions as ‘completely unacceptable’.
He added: ‘I would think so. If Sonya had learned anything the last couple of years, you’d think she would learn that is completely unacceptable. Obviously, Monday, she had another lapse in judgement.’
Deville – staying in character – has responded to the news on Twitter and insisted she actually ‘won’ the bout with Bliss.
She wrote: ‘Laps in judgment!? How about the refs “laps in judgment” when he decided something was more important thank counting my WINNING pin! I won. IIII wonnnn. I WON. That match. (sic)’
Deville was removed from her position as an authority figure recently, which came after her on-screen role was called into question as part of a storyline investigation after she tricked her way into a Raw Women’s Title match against Bianca Belair and change the rules midway through the bout.
Deville is now back to being a wrestler – and she previously admitted while she’s loved being in a different role on screen,.
She exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s kinda funny because I love my role, I love being in charge, I love running both brands – but I’m a fighter at heart.’
‘I had an idea and it kind of fell through and it kind of organically transitioned into this,’ she added, noting she spoke to Vince McMahon about wanting to wear suits on screen.
‘Next thing you know, I was walking down the hallway in a three-piece suit. I didn’t know where it was going, and it just organically evolved from there.’
