Flamboyant duo Pretty Deadly have teased some surprises in the future as they find their feet on SmackDown.
The English team, , have a huge opportunity tonight as they battle Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Unified Tag Team Titles on SmackDown at in , and it’s evidence of their hard work paying off.
Speaking hours before the match, Elton exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘This is something, it’s progressed a lot and it’s grown and developed, but essentially we’re still doing now, what we was doing before we even signed for the company.
‘This is something we put together, two little lost boys! It’s very exciting to be here and still get to be who we are. We’re just getting to be unequivocally us.’
And while they are staying true to what brought them to the big dance, the extravagant pair – who have given themselves nicknames like the Brothers in Garbs and the Dandy Highwaymen – are keen to develop.
‘We’ll change, we’ll mix it up, but right now we are just us,’ Kit added, while Elton teased: ‘I think there’ll be some little left, right turns in the future.’
Kit laughed: ‘There’ll be some full roundabouts boy, for sure! But for now, we are just us.’
Despite their overconfidence, the duo admitted there might be some nerves going into tonight’s big match, particularly with the pedigree of their opponents, who won the gold in the earlier this year.
‘It’s hard to put into words how big of a match it is for us with how quick our rise has been. It’s very exciting, I’m sure later on maybe the excitement will switch to some nerves, potentially,’ Elton candidly said.
‘But we’re excited, and obviously what better way than to be at home in front of the UK fans. I think we’re excited to see what the reactions gonna be. We don’t know! We’re not normally very likeable but we’re English, so by default, maybe we are!’
The nerves will wash of over them by the time they head out, and Pretty Deadly are ready for their big moment to shine.
‘The second that music goes out, that’s it, we’re Pretty Deadly,’ Elton said, while Kit added: ‘Obviously we’re silly, loud big characters, but we take this seriously. We know how big this is.’
