The Women’s Title picture changed dramatically at SummerSlam with two new champions in a matter of minutes.
Asuka was defending the gold against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a fantastic Triple Threat which had the crowd in Detroit on their feet in the penultimate match of the evening.
The dramatic ending came after the Empress of Tomorrow hit Flair with the blue mist only to get rolled up by the EST of WWE as she captured the WWE Women’s Title.
However, her reign didn’t last long as Bayley and Iyo Sky ran down to the ring and went on the attack as the latter cashed in her Money In The Bank contract, last month.
She scored the shocking win, claiming her first major title on the main roster and celebrating with her Damage CTRL teammates as Dakota Kai – who is currently out with injury – ran down to join in the emotional moment.
