What can you expect from WWE WrestleMania Backlash? Predictions for the show
WrestleMania Backlash is a hard night to predict because on the surface the card itself – with just one championship match and four rematches from last month’s WrestleMania weekend – gives the impression of a filler night.
However, a closer look shows that as well as having the chance to continue WWE’s great run on premium live events (they don’t often miss with the months specials at this point), there’s also scope for a very eventful evening.
As much as some fans like to pretend otherwise (and despite a storyline that hampers them), , and have the potential to deliver a fun match.
Bobby Lashley and Omos didn’t set the world alight at WrestleMania, but a dominating win for the latter with MVP by his side will no doubt set up a third match, while should be destined for one more clash after tonight.
They had a great match at Mania so there are high hopes for the sequel, which should see Rollins steal a win to set up the final instalment in the trilogy.
Edge and AJ Styles should be fascinating, particularly after the final stretch of their clash in Dallas. Damian Priest being banned from ringside – and Styles’ union with Finn Balor – adds another twist, and there’s a chance for another star to join Judgement Day in his place.
Look to Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Title in her I Quit match against Charlotte Flair to shake up the division and allow both stars to move onto something else.
Their recent untelevised match was an improvement on their strong WrestleMania showing (which was only let down by a disinterested crowd), so there should be high hopes for tonight.
Finally, a perfect world will see Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro beat The Bloodline tonight, setting up the Scottish Warrior as Roman Reigns’ next opponent for the WWE Universal Championship.
