Charlotte Flair and Andrade El Idolo have got married in a beautiful ceremony in Mexico in front of their loved ones.
The WWE couple tied the knot on Friday in front of 160 guests at Hacienda Mi Ranchito in Torreón, Andrade’s home town.
Charlotte, 36, whose real name is Ashley Fliehr, got engaged to Andrade, 32, whose real name is Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza, in January 2020.
She told ‘Before I met him, I did not know anything except my job. When I met him, he opened my eyes to travel and life and love and a different culture.
‘And I was so strict with my job and did not know how to enjoy both life and work at the same time. And he opened me up to that.’
The couple included special touched like multitudes of candles and pastel floral arrangements in a nod to their off-duty selves, which are nothing like their characters.
Charlotte, who married in a full-lace, jewelled gown, told their wedding planner that they wanted the day to be ‘casual’.
She explained: ‘I didn’t want it to be anything like my character — “Charlotte” is not personable at all and not relatable … but I like when I am just me, Ashley, when I am with him in gym clothes and no makeup.
’It’s funny because when we were talking to the wedding planner … I just really wanted it to be casual.’
She had eight bridesmaids in champagne-coloured dresses and was walked down the aisle by her dad, wrestling icon Ric Flair. while Andrade’s eight uncles were his groomsmen.
Charlotte added that the inclusion of family was the ‘most important’ part of the event for them and why they chose to host the wedding in Andrade’s home town.
Their guests danced to music in both English and Spanish as well as enjoying authentic Mexican foods including enchiladas and empanadas.
Charlotte and Andrade are now set to head off to Costa Rica on their honeymoon before closing on a new home in Florida this summer.
