Matt Riddle has reportedly been pulled from Live events this weekend after being seemingly.
In the opening match of Monday night’s episode, the Original Bro teamed with Kevin Owens to battle The Usos for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships, but the makeshift duo fell short.
After the bout, Kevin Owens chased twins Jimmy and Jey and their Bloodline associate Sami Zayn with a steel chair, leaving Riddle alone in the ring.
The Usos’ younger brother Solo Sikoa went on the attack, delivering a Samoan Spike and two devastating Hip Attacks – the latter with Riddle’s head wrapped in a steel chair – in tribute to his late uncle Umaga, 13 years after his tragic death.
After the beatdown, Riddle was stretchered out in a neck brace, although there is no suggestion he has suffered a legitimate injury.
Now, PWInsider has reported that Riddle won’t be involved in this weekend’s untelevised live events, which would be in line with WWE writing him off TV as part of the storyline.
The news comes after of this Friday’s episode of SmackDown, although his situation is said to be legitimate.
The Scottish Warrior, who didn’t specify the exact reason for his absence, revealed on Monday that he is being forced to miss his teaming with Sheamus against The Usos for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships.
Taking to Twitter before Raw got underway, he wrote: ‘Unfortunately I am medically disqualified to compete this Friday on #Smackdown I don’t like to miss any shows as everybody knows but I promise I’ll be back soon.’
During the show, WWE confirmed that McIntyre will be replaced by Butch for the high stakes bout later this week, meaning Sheamus will be joined by his Brawling Brutes teammate.
After McIntyre revealed his legitimate health issue preventing him from wrestling on SmackDown, fans were quick to send the former world champion messages of support.
‘Take care warrior and come back fighting,’ wrote one fan, while Sheamus himself tweeted: ‘We need ya lad, hurry back.’
WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
