Clifford the Big Red Dog has got nothing on and ’s new pooch.

The actress, 47, and her star 49, are now proud adoptive parents to a four-legged friend – be warned because the photo is quite a jumpscare.

Keeley and Matthew already have adorable fluffy pup Buster, but now there’s a new addition

A photo shared by the star shows just how massive he is, as Keeley can be seen cuddling Buster in the background while their new dog steals the limelight.

The actress can’t help but laugh in the wholesome snap as the gigantic animal stands up with his paws on the table, staring right into the camera.

She wrote in her caption: ‘She captioned the photo: ‘Thank you Battersea for the newest member of our family. We couldn’t love her more. Buster is recovering.’

Taking to the comments, dog lovers were obsessed.

‘Amazing, congrats guys’, wrote Sex Education star Connor Swindells.

‘You have a gigantic teddy and I am in love!!’, commented Jo Elvin.

Instagram user Ed Perkins joked: ‘She looks like she’s about to take your details and ask you to take a seat in the waiting room 😂’

Noticing Buster’s shocked expression in the background, Tessa White wrote: ‘Buster is like.. Excuse me? I have questions 😂’

Battersea also left a sweet comment, thanking the couple for their adoption of the pooch, whose name has not been shared yet.

‘Congratulations on your new family member! 🥰 Thank you for giving her a loving home. We look forward to seeing updates 💙’, the team wrote.

Keeley has been a vocal Battersea supporter for some time now, having documented her visits to the rescue centre.

Back in June, the TV star shared a slew of sweet pics from her day at the cats and dogs come, snuggling up to the cutest pups and chatting to the staff.

Her caption read: ‘A huge thank you to Jane and Carly and all the amazing staff at @battersea for taking the time to show me the wonderful work you do 💙

‘Very lucky to have spent the morning with the incredible vets, nurses and volunteers who do such an incredible job of looking after these precious pups!’

Keeley can now be seen on screens in the Miss Austen. 

Based on Gill Hornby’s best-selling novel, the adaptation sees Keeley star as Cassandra Austen who discovers a heap of Jane Austen’s private letters following her death. 

The role required Keeley to undergo as she ditched her stylish golden bob for a brunette do to fit with the 1800s.

While Keeley is best known for roles in series such as Line of Duty and Ashes To Ashes, she doesn’t plan on acting forever.

Speaking last year, aged 46, after clocking up some glowing credits on her CV.

She said of her job to : ‘I love it, I’ve been really lucky but over the past couple of years, like lots of people, you think, “God, life is short and you’re only here once” – if you believe that, which I do – and there might be other avenues to explore.

‘I’ll be 50 in a minute. There might be other things out there for me.’

Keeley went on to share how she’s been involved with vital work to improve the quality of the acting industry and change the landscape for up-and-coming performers.

‘I’ve witnessed and called out racism, misogyny, sexism, harassment and bullying. No one would have been able to do that 20 years ago for fear of losing their job, or being seen as difficult.’
