Paul Parker feels right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has ‘stepped up’ and is now similar to Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Zinchenko has impressed at the Emirates since moving to north in a £32m deal in the summer from .
The Ukraine international has made 17 appearances for the Gunners with lauding Zinchenko last month.
Wan-Bissaka, meanwhile, who moved to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace in 2019 in a £50m deal, has started United’s last seven Premier League games with Erik ten Hag’s side losing just once in that time.
‘Wan-Bissaka has definitely stepped up and he has raised his own bar,’ former United defender Parker told .
‘He is not perfect at all but it looks like he has the willingness to do a really good job.
‘He has been very brave and he reminds me a bit of Zinchenko. There are not a lot of English full-backs that can play the way he is playing.
‘Ten Hag is in a really good position on that right fullback position. He has two really good players but it’s up to Diogo Dalot to reclaim his position.
‘I think a lot of Man United fans would agree that there is no need to get a new right back. Wan-Bissaka and Dalot can do the job very well.’
Michael Owen, meanwhile, .
‘I think when the teamsheets came out Wilfried Zaha saw that Wan-Bissaka was going to be marking him in that game he would’ve been thinking, ‘oh no’. Because no player wants to play against the likes of Wan-Bissaka,’ Owen told Premier League Productions.
‘His problem is obviously on the ball, going forward, but he’s improving that all the time.
‘That was Wan-Bissaka to a tee, that is the best part of his game that late, lunging tackle where he sweeps his leg around.’
