AC Milan have reached a verbal agreement with Divock Origi as a summer move for the Liverpool striker edges closer, according to reports.
Origi’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning he is free to negotiate with foreign clubs over a free transfer.
The 26-year-old has seen his playing time limited this season, making just five Premier League appearances for ’s side.
Origi, who has scored a number of iconic goals for the Reds, has reached an agreement in principle with Milan, according to Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport.
A salary worth around €4million (£3.3m) per season for four years has been verbally agreed, with a final agreement set to be in place in the coming weeks.
‘It is incredibly hard for [Origi] and for me as well [for him not to play] because it is really tough these kind of things,’ Klopp told Sky Sports earlier this month.
‘Taki Minamino [the same, as he] is in an incredible moment.
‘It is unlikely with the size of the squad that we now stay exactly like this together.
‘For sure, some of the players do not play often enough for their own understanding and we will see what will come in the summer and find solutions for those situations.’
‘The core of the group has to stay together. There is no doubt about that,’ Klopp added.
