Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni insists the club have ‘not communicated anything’ to him about interest from and Tottenham.
The Italy defender is a target for both clubs, with Gianluca Di Marzio stating that contact has been made from United and Tottenham with Inter over a move for the centre-back.
Both and Erik ten Hag are keen to sign a left-sided centre-back and the Italian has already worked with Conte, having won Serie A under the Spurs boss in 2021.
While Spurs would appear the more likely destination given they can offer football and Bastoni has a pre-existing relationship with Conte, United could offer the Italian higher wages and likely trump Spurs on transfer fee.
However, the Italian insists the club have not informed him of any offers for his services and that he has two years left on his deal.
‘I am an Inter player. I have a two-year contract with Inter,’ said Bastoni.
‘The club has not communicated anything to me. I go on vacation after the national team, and then I start again with Inter.’
Bastoni already has 14 Italy caps to his name and as Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup, he will be well rested over the festive period.
Inter are attempting to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea but at this moment in time they can only afford to sanction a loan deal.
However, should they cash in on Bastoni, the Italians would likely attempt to sign Lukaku on a permanent basis.
