Amad Diallo ‘likes’ tweet telling him to leave Manchester United after failing to feature in win against League Two side Newport County

‘liked’ a tweeting telling him to leave after the winger failed to play a single minute in the side’s on Sunday.

The Ivory Coast winger has made just one appearance this season, after spending the first four months of the season on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Diallo impressed during his cameo in a 2-1 defeat against at the end of 2023 but he’s yet to feature since.

A trip to League Two outfit Newport seemed the perfect chance for Diallo to increase his minutes but he was overlooked as made five substitutions.

The Dutchman brought on youngsters such as Omari Forson and Willy Kambwala, while Diallo remained on the bench.

The Ivorian enjoyed a successful loan spell at Sunderland last season and supporters have been desperate for him to return to the north-east.

And Diallo liked one such tweet asking for him to return after the game.

‘If they’re not going to start you in the FA Cup away at Newport County it really really isn’t worth you giving them your time,’ the Sunderland supporter wrote.

‘Come home, come somewhere you are truly appreciated.’

United fans were quick to spot Diallo’s activity, and feared he had fallen out with Ten Hag.

The winger then deleted his ‘like’ as he attempted to cover-up his activity.
