Amad Diallo is set to return to ’s squad for their trip to Newport County after resuming first team training.
The winger made an impressive cameo in his first appearance of the season during a 2-1 defeat to in late December.
Diallo missed the opening four months of the season with a knee injury, which prevented him from leaving the club on loan.
With United’s problems on the right flank, Diallo could be given an extended run in the side provided he can maintain his fitness.
United are preparing to take on League Two outfit Newport on Sunday and Diallo is likely to be in the squad after participating in full training this week.
Erik ten Hag gave his squad some time off after the 2-2 draw against Tottenham 10 days ago.
Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire have also returned, but Mason Mount, Victor Lindelof and Tyrell Malacia remain out.
Donny van de Beek, Hannibal and Jadon Sancho have left the club this month, which has thinned Ten Hag’s squad.
The Dutchman would ideally like to strengthen this month but United are constrained by Financial Fair Play limits.
