boss says will receive a good reception from supporters on his return to the club after his ‘undeniable’ impact on Spurs.
The Argentine is set to return to the club for the first time since he was sacked in 2018.
Pochettino spent four and a half years in north , taking Spurs to the Champions League final and a second-place finish in the Premier League.
The Argentine was much-loved during his time at the club and there was clamour to reappoint him last summer following Antonio Conte’s dismissal.
However, Pochettino of course ended up at rivals Chelsea, which has irked some Spurs fans.
But Postecoglou says Pochettino will get the reception he deserves for the fantastic work he did at the club.
‘It’s undoubted that he had an unbelievable impact on this football club,’ said Postecoglou.
‘For all of us that’s our ultimate goal. He had an undeniable impact on this club. His work is unquestioned. People I speak to here who worked with him can’t speak highly enough about him.
‘I can’t imagine there will be anything but respect for Mauricio from the people at this club and the fans. He’s not going to get a guard of honour or anything because we want to win the game and he won’t expect that.’
Pochettino hopes to start Reece James when he returns to north London on Monday night.
The defender made his first start since August in a 2-0 Carabao Cup win against Blackburn on Wednesday night.
However, he only lasted an hour and requested to be substituted as he felt ‘tired’.
