Ajax forward Antony says he can’t guarantee that he will still be at the club when the transfer window has closed, with ongoing interest from .

The 22-year-old Brazil international is one of United’s key targets over the remainder of the transfer window, with a bid of €80m (£67.8m) reportedly rejected by the Dutch club earlier this week.

It seems that the Brazilian is interested in making the switch to Old Trafford, though, after reports emerging that he missed training on Friday, while he has been far from committal on his Ajax future.

Asked by if he can guarantee that he will be at Ajax past the end of the transfer window, he said: ‘No, to be perfectly honest, I can’t.

‘What I can say is that I want to come to the right decision with my family, business partners and , which is good for everyone.

‘In the end, God determines my future. I am very happy at Ajax, I have a contract until the summer of 2025 and I will give everything for this beautiful club for every second.

‘I wear the shirt with pride and from day one I feel at home. If we all decide that I will stay here, then I know that this is the best thing for me and the club.

‘It’s not like I have to leave. Now I am focusing on playing football and have put all other matters in the hands of my agents and my brother. They will advise me on what is best.’

Antony has started both of Ajax’s Eredivisie matches so far this season and the club are keen to keep hold of him after losing Erik ten Hag and Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United already this summer, while a number of other notable players have left as well.

Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui have both gone to Bayern Munich, Andre Onana has left for Inter Milan, Sebastien Haller has gone to Borussia Dortmund and Nicolas Tagliafico to Lyon, among others.
