has heaped praise on his ‘extraordinary’ teammate , after playing alongside the legendary forward for the first-time last week.
Having completed his long awaited, £85million move from on deadline day, Antony was thrown straight into United’s starting XI for last Sunday’s clash with Arsenal and quickly impressed the Old Trafford faithful.
On his debut, he scored the opening goal of the Red Devils’ 3-1 win against the Gunners before making way for Ronaldo just shy of the hour mark.
The Brazil winger finally got his chance to share the pitch with the Portuguese superstar last Thursday in the opening Europa League game of the campaign, though the pair were unable to prevent United’s 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad.
Nevertheless, Antony has shared his excitement at playing with one of his idols, claiming to have learnt so much in such a short period of time.
‘Words can’t describe Cristiano, the best in the world,’ the 22-year-old told .
‘In just a few days, I’ve learnt a lot from him. He has an extraordinary mind and, whenever I talk to him, I take a lot from it.
‘I’m sure that we have a strong attack and it’s very promising for the future.
‘I’ve come to help my team-mates. Regardless of age, there’s immense talent in all the players.’
In his first two games Antony has already dazzled supporters with his trickery and skill, something that he has vowed to continue.
‘I’ve always done this, not just here but for all the teams I’ve played for,’ he added.
‘I’ve been doing it ever since I was a child. It’s one of my characteristics.
‘I am adapting and getting used to things here already. Entertaining is something I’ve always liked, and I’ll continue doing it.’
He’ll have to wait a little longer than expected to get that opportunity however, after United’s clash at Crystal Palace on Sunday was postponed due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
United’s next game is currently slated to be on Thursday, with a trip to Moldovan side Sheriff in the Europa League.
