Antony has sent a message of support to Casemiro following his red card in ’s goalless draw with Southampton on Sunday.

Referee Antony Taylor initially gave Casemiro a yellow card but changed his decision after looking at the tackle on the VAR monitor.

Antony consoled his fellow Brazilian as he left the pitch after his red card and followed up with a message to his United teammate after the game.

When asked for his verdict on the decision, United goalkeeper David de Gea said: ‘I think Casemiro was a bit unlucky.
‘He tried to touch the ball and the foot was a bit higher and hits the Southampton player.
‘I think the referees need to be more consistent during the games. Sometimes they give a card red, sometimes not. But probably, could be a red.’
Asked about the difficulty United now face with Casemiro out, De Gea replied: ‘It’s going to be tough.
‘Of course, he’s a big player for us. Missing for four games, it’s going to be difficult but we still have a big squad, everyone’s ready to play.
‘I think the players who came from the bench today did great. Every game they have done so well, so be together, keep working hard and for sure, the one who is going to play the next games is going to be ready.’
