boss says needs to show his effectiveness at attacking set-pieces more consistently.

The defender scored a crucial goal in Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Burnley at the Emirates on Saturday.

The goal – Saliba’s first of the campaign – came just minutes after Burnley scored an equaliser midway through the second half.

Saliba has been excellent since returning to north in 2022, and he’s established himself as one of the best defenders in the world.

But, at 6ft4, he’s yet to impose himself regularly in the opposition’s box.

And Arteta says the club are working with Saliba for that to change.

‘We are big lads! Willy is a real presence but he hasn’t showed yet that skill consistently and we are really working with him because he can be much more dominant, and the goal today is a real example of that,’ said Arteta.

‘Credit to the coaches and to him as well for the work they are doing.

‘We are the team that generates the most set-pieces, teams are really low against us and preventing the spaces so it is a really good way for us to score goals as well.’
