Arsenal face anxious wait as Gabriel Jesus is sent for scan on hamstring injury

face an anxious wait to discover the severity of Gabriel Jesus’ hamstring injury.

The Brazilian was forced off in the Gunners’ 2-1 win against Sevilla in on Tuesday.

Jesus set-up ’s opener, before scoring a sublime effort of his own to give Arsenal the victory.

But Jesus’ night was blemished by his second half substitution after he strained his hamstring.

Speaking after the victory, Jesus was confident the injury was not severe.

‘I felt something. Let’s see. I did some tests with the physio. It looks not that big [an issue], but let’s see,’ said Jesus.

‘I will have a scan, maybe tomorrow or the day after. Let’s see how it is, but I am pretty sure it will be nothing.’

Jesus was sent for a scan on Thursday, with Arsenal facing an anxious wait over the next 24 hours to get the results.

Mikel Arteta is set to speak to the media on Friday ahead of the Gunners’ Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

The Spaniard is famously coy about injuries, but could provide an update on whether the striker will be fit to face the Blades.
