forward Gabriel Martinelli stepped up another level as he impressed during Brazil’s training session this weekend.
The 20-year-old has been included in Brazil’s latest squad for their final qualifiers and came off the bench in the 4-0 victory against Chile on Thursday.
Brazil have already secured their place at the World Cup in Qatar later this year, meaning that Martinelli could be handed his first ever start for the national side in their final qualifier against Bolivia on Wednesday.
And the Arsenal forward has given Brazil’s head coach Tite a tough decision if the highlights from one of his recent training sessions is anything to go by.
In a clip released by Brazil, Martinelli put away two goals with brilliant close-range finishes, while he also showed two brilliant pieces of skill to get away from his marker.
Martinelli looked bright in his debut for Brazil against Chile and he will be hoping to get more minutes against Bolivia, who have no chance of qualifying for the World Cup.
Speaking earlier this month, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta praised Martinelli’s ‘exceptional’ development this season.
‘He’s shown big signs of where he’s moving and I think his contribution all round in his game has been exceptional,’ said Arteta.
‘Gabi’s playing a different position because Auba played more as a No.9 in his last few months.
‘He certainly has the capacity to score goals and be a threat in the final third. His contribution and all-round game has been exceptional.’
