Arsenal are considering a summer move for outcast Joao Cancelo, with Mikel Arteta a fan of the Portugal international having worked together in the past.
The 28-year-old is on loan at from the champions after surprisingly falling out of favour with .
It is unlikely that Cancelo will be brought back into the fold at Manchester City and huge clubs are circling to try to take advantage of the situation.
report that the Gunners are one of those clubs, with Arteta and Cancelo working together for a few months at Man City before the Spaniard left to take charge of Arsenal.
Bayern have Cancelo’s fate in their own hands as they are keen to keep hold of him beyond this season and have an option to buy in his loan agreement with City.
However, the German giants believe the €70m (£61m) figure is too much and if they are to sign the versatile defender permanently then they will need to negotiate a lower fee with his parent club.
That leaves Bayern open to being out-bid by other clubs, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also reportedly interested in bringing Cancelo to La Liga.
Cancelo has had an eventful career so far, playing for Benfica, Valencia, Inter Milan and Juventus before signing for Manchester City.
He has won league titles in Portugal, Italy and England, while he has a great chance to add the Bundesliga title to his CV this season at Bayern.
