Arsenal are set to reward with an improved deal, just 14 months after the goalkeeper moved to the Emirates.

Ramsdale joined the club in August 2021 from Sheffield United, in a deal that could eventually be worth around £30million.

Many questioned Mikel Arteta’s acquisition of the former Bournemouth ace but he’s proved his doubters wrong by successfully replacing Bernd Leno as first choice.

Ramsdale’s ball-playing ability has been particularly important in the development of this Arsenal side, with the Gunners now playing a brand of football more closely aligned to Arteta’s philosophy.

The club have worked hard to lower their wage bill with the exits of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette over the last 18 months.

And they’re now keen to reward those that have helped the club to their best ever Premier League start, which has seen the Gunners win nine of their first ten matches.

According to the Athletic, Ramsdale is in line with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to be rewarded with a new deal.

The club feel Ramsdale is deserving of an improved salary and wages that reflect his status as one of the best goalkeepers in the division.

Ramsdale is pushing to become England’s first choice goalkeeper for the World Cup, though Jordan Pickford is currently winning the race.

Arsenal have conceded ten goals in their opening ten league fixtures this term.
