are working on a deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from .
The Gunners have made the 25-year-old a priority after missing out of defender Lisandro Martinez, who is set to join .
report Arsenal are in contact with City, having already done business with the Premier League champions this summer having signed Gabriel Jesus.
City are open to cashing in on Zinchenko providing their valuation is met.
Arsenal are yet to meet that asking price but talks are said to be continuing with Mikel Arteta keen to be reunited with the versatile 25-year-old.
The two worked together during Arteta’s time serving as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at City and are said to have maintained a strong relationship.
Zinchenko has predominately featured at left-back under Guardiola but is regularly deployed in midfield playing for his country.
While Arteta is looking for reinforcements at left-back, reports earlier this summer also suggested the Gunners boss is prepared to promise Zinchenko the chance to play in midfield.
Zinchenko, who has been a City player since 2016, has won four Premier League titles, four League Cups and an FA Cup during his time at the Etihad.
Last season, he started 18 games in all competitions.
Arsenal have already added to their attacking options in Jesus, Fabio Vieira and youngster Marquinhos this summer with goalkeeper Matt Turner also arriving in north London.
The club are also still interested in bringing Youri Tielemans to the club, with the Belgium international into the final year of his contract at Leicester City.
Arsenal made a number of bids to sign Ajax defender Martinez in recent weeks. The club were thought to have identified him as an option who could also provide cover for Kieran Tierney at left-back as well as centre-half.
The Argentina international is now on the brink of a move to Old Trafford, however. United have agreed a £46million fee with Ajax with a deal expected to be wrapped up soon.
