have reached an agreement to sign Villarreal centre-back , according to reports.
The 26-year-old is one of ’s priority targets for the summer transfer window, with the Villa manager working with the defender during their time together at Villarreal.
According to , Villa have agreed personal terms with Torres and have also settled on a payment structure with the Spanish club.
Meanwhile, report that the deal for Torres will cost Villa €35 million (£30m).
Torres has also been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Barcelona in previous transfer windows.
The defender came through Villarreal’s academy and made his La Liga debut in 2017.
He has been capped 23 times by Spain and was part of the squads for Euro 2020 and the World Cup last year.
During his time under Emery at Villarreal, Torres helped the club win the Europa League in 2021.
Torres will become Villa’s second signing of the summer window after they announced an agreement to sign Youri Tielemans on a free transfer from Leicester City earlier this month.
