He signs a two-year deal at the Camp Nou with the option to extend by a further 12 months.
He will officially join up with his new side when his contract at the Etihad expires at the end of June.
The 32-year-old ended his seven-year spell at City by captaining the club during their Treble success, leaving Manchester with a haul of five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and a Champions League.

Pep Guardiola was eager to keep the midfielder at the Etihad while Arsenal were also understood to have made him an offer to follow former teammates Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the Emirates. Former club Borussia Dortmund were also interested in a reunion.
