Barcelona are open to do a deal for Ferran Torres, potentially letting him leave on loan, amid interest from Arsenal, according to reports.
Torres was a regular for Barca last season, making 33 La Liga appearances and 45 in all competitions, scoring seven goals.
However, he wasn’t a nailed-on starter by any means, with just 14 of those 33 league appearances coming in Xavi’s starting XI.
, where he impressed in his brief 18 month spell with before signing for Barcelona.
that there has been nothing concrete on a move for the 23-year-old, but that Barcelona would be open to discussing a move for the Spain international if serious offers came in.
Arsenal have already splashed £65m on Kai Havertz from Chelsea and will imminently be paying £105m for Declan Rice from West Ham and £40m for Jurrien Timber from Ajax.
They are unlikely to spend a great deal more this transfer window after that heavy outlay, but if a loan deal could be done then they would be interested.
Bukayo Saka has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s team but the England winger played an enormous amount of football last season, which led to a drop-off in form late in the campaign.
The 21-year-old played in all 38 Premier League games, starting 37 of them, and made eight Europa League appearances on top of that.
A right-winger to compete with and offer back-up to Saka would be useful for Arteta as the Gunners return to the Champions League and try again to compete for the Premier League title this season.
