fans may not have expected to see their side bottom of their Champions League group at this stage of the season, but star Kingsley Coman is not surprised.
The Red Devils have had a nightmare campaign so far, winning just one of their first five matches and suffering defeats to all three opponents.
Bayern Munich were clear favourites to win the group when the draw was made, but Manchester United would have fancied their chances against Galatasaray and .
Defeat at home to the Turkish side, a draw in Istanbul and a loss in Denmark have left United bottom of the group with one game to go and needing to beat Bayern at home on Tuesday night to have any chance of progressing.
It didn’t look a likely scenario when the draw was made, but Coman says he is not surprised as the Champions League is always tough for any team.
‘It’s not a surprise because I know the is hard,’ the Frenchman told Sky Sports. ‘I know they are a good team but I knew were a good team as well. Galatasaray bought some good players that were used to playing at a high level.
‘I was surprised by Copenhagen, they are really good. I knew it wouldn’t be as easy as people thought, Champions League is never easy.’
Coman, who has already won league titles with PSG, Juventus and Bayern, admits that he fancies a crack at the Premier League at some point in his career.
‘I would say it is in the back of my head. What I love about football is the intensity of the game, the challenge,’ said the 27-year-old.
‘The Premier League is one of the leagues, if not the league, with the most challenges and intensity. It is definitely a league I would like to play in one day but you don’t know what could happen in football. I could stay in Bayern and be the happiest ever.’
