The Portuguese playmaker came off during extra-time of United’s semi-final win against Brighton after injuring his ankle during the first half.

Fernandes immediately took his boot off and he was sent home with a protective boot and crutches, which he was still using on Monday.

However, the midfielder – who has not missed a single game for United through injury – appears to have made a miraculous recovery.

Fernandes was seen with the United squad that arrived in London this afternoon and he will face a late fitness test to see if he can start.

Should Fernandes be forced to accept a place on the bench, Christian Eriksen or Marcel Sabitzer could step into an advanced role.

United are looking to virtually end Spurs’ top four hopes with a win in north London.

Tottenham trail United by six points having played two games more and they must beat the Red Devils to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

Hugo Lloris faces a late fitness test after coming off at half-time during Sunday’s 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United.
