has hinted Bukayo Saka has recovered from injury and will feature against Nottingham Forest.

The England winger missed last week’s fixtures following the injury he picked up during ’s 1-1 draw at prior to the international break.

Arteta’s side face highflying Forest on Saturday knowing they can ill-afford to drop any more points in the Premier League title race.

Arsenal’s season has been blighted to a spate of injuries but are delighted to welcome back captain Martin Odegaard who successfully came through his return game at Stamford Bridge before being rested by Norway.

Declan Rice, who played through the pain barrier against Chelsea, also missed the final two matches of interim Three Lions manager Lee Carsley’s brief tenure.

Leandro Trossard, meanwhile, who appeared to have suffered an injury during Belgium’s game against Israel, also looks set to recover in time.

Asked for an update at his pre-match press conference, Arteta said: ‘Trossard seems to be okay. He trained this morning.

Ben White is going to be out for months

‘Bukayo and Declan as well they had their first session, today, a partial session.’

There was also positive news on the fitness of summer signing Riccardo Calafiori who has missed the last month.

‘Riccy trained today,’ added Arteta. ‘His rehab has gone really well. He will be in the squad.’

There was, however, confirmation of the setback sustained by Ben White who has undergone surgery on a long-standing knee injury.

‘Ben is gonna be out for months,’ said the Arsenal manager.’It’s been different kinds of struggles.

‘It’s never been the same thing. It’s not been improving. It got to a point a where we have to protect the player.

‘Unfortunately it’s going to be a few months.’
