has hinted that he will one day return to the Premier League following his move to Italian Serie B side Como.
The 35-year-old Spaniard became a free agent after the expiration of his contract at Ligue 1 side Monaco last month and has joined Como on a two-year deal.
The former and midfielder, who won two Premier League titles, two FA Cups, the League Cup and during his spells at the two London clubs, has already set his sights on a return to England in management.
‘When I become a coach, as I have said, the Premier League has been my league, it is where I played my best football, my best years, where people respect me so much,’ he told .
‘I feel really loved in England and, in the future, I would love [to coach there], why not?
‘I’d love to [be a Premier League manager], 100 per cent. If I can look at a target in some years to come, then definitely, this is in my head.’
Fabregas has praised Arsenal’s business in the summer transfer window and believes Edu has done a ‘fantastic job’.
‘I think Mikel is doing a good job and Edu is doing a fantastic job,’ he added. ‘Edu is a football man and he knows what it takes to build a football project.
‘You cannot do it in one day and sometimes the market doesn’t allow you to get the right players, sometimes you are too young to compete, which happened at Arsenal during one or two years.
‘But I think they have now matured, the younger players are not so young anymore. I see a different face.
‘They signed very well and strengthened the team in areas in which they were struggling.
‘I’m really looking forward to the season because it is really exciting.’
Arsenal’s season gets started on August 5 when they travel to face Crystal Palace while Chelsea face a trip to Everton the following day.
