Chelsea have had multiple offers for Gordon rejected by Everton, who are demanding at least £50 million for the 21-year-old.
Tottenham and are also interested in Gordon but according to The Times, Chelsea are now ‘confident’ that an agreement with Everton can be reached this week.
The report claims that has ‘earmarked’ Gordon as a player who would improve his attacking options.
Speaking last week, Frank Lampard admitted that Everton may decide to sell Gordon to Chelsea before the window closes.
‘It has to be a joined-up say so,’ said Lampard.

It’s also reported that Chelsea have begun discussions with AC Milan for Leao, who was their joint-top goalscorer alongside Olivier Giroud in Serie A last season.
Leao is also said to be keen on the idea of moving to the Premier League.
However, reports in Italy claim that AC Milan are demanding that the Portugal international’s €150 million (£126.6m) release clause is triggered.
