are planning a number of signings over the summer and have eight defenders on their list alone.

Blues boss is also likely to want to add to his midfield and attack, but defence is the key area of focus with both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving the club.

There also remain doubts over both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, both of whom are targets for , with both seemingly keen to move to the Camp Nou.

Both Spaniards could still leave Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea would have to secure replacements for their decimated back line.

report that eight names have been identified as possible replacements for the outgoing defenders and hope to be able to move for their targets as soon as the window opens on 10 June – as long as the sale of the club has gone through, as expected.

At the top of their shopping list is long-term target Jules Kounde, who nearly moved from Sevilla last year, with a deal falling through late in the day.

The 23-year-old France international is unlikely to escape the Blues this time around looks set to be the first of their defensive replacements.

Less established, but highly-rated is RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol who operates on the left of central defence and can fill in at left-back.

The 20-year-old is more of a prospect than a proven talent but is also one of the Blues’ top targets.

Also named as players of interest to Tuchel are Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez, with four unknown names thought to be on the wish-list.

There will likely be competition for all these targets, but with replacements a necessity, Chelsea will do everything they can to rebuild their defence over the summer.
