will miss ’s upcoming games against and through injury.

The star right-back last Saturday.

Eddie Howe later confirmed that Trippier had suffered a calf injury but could not say how serious the issue was and how long he could be out for.

‘He felt a pain in his calf, we’re hopeful it’s not too bad,’ the manager said.

‘It was good to see him walk down the touchline rather than limp, so we’ll wait and see how bad that is.’

Now, according to , scans have revealed that while the injury is not as serious as first feared, it is bad enough to rule the 33-year-old out until potentially the end of the month.

That means he’ll miss the trip to Stamford Bridge on Monday night, with Newcastle aiming to move up to seventh in the Premier League.

More worryingly for the Magpies, Trippier will also be sidelined for the FA Cup quarter-final clash against holders Manchester City next Saturday evening.

The injury means he’s also now a doubt for England March friendlies against Belgium and Brazil.

Trippier is expected to be in the Three Lions squad for Euro 2024, so missing these games will come as a big blow for Gareth Southgate’s preparations, especially with fellow right-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James also out injured.

At the very least, he is expected to be back after the international break for Newcastle’s game against West Ham on 31st March.

Southgate will name his March squad next Thursday.
