are interested in snapping up from after the international lost his place in the first team to David Raya.
After Ramsdale had a good season in goal for Arsenal last time around there was some surprise that Mikel Arteta signed Raya on loan from Brentford to compete for the number one spot.
The Englishman began the campaign with the gloves, but the Spaniard has quickly displaced him in the starting XI, despite a number of sticky moments, including in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
reports that Chelsea are keen to take advantage of the situation and sign the former Bournemouth goalkeeper in a bid to solve their own problems in the position.
The Blues brought in Robert Sanchez from Brighton over the summer but he has not been particularly impressive, himself making a mistake in the draw with Arsenal which cost his side as Declan Rice pounced on a misplaced pass to fire into an empty net.
If Ramsdale is available then the west London club may well see him as an upgrade on the Spain international they signed just a matter of months ago.
There are stumbling blocks, though, with Arsenal potentially not interested in doing a deal that could potentially strengthen a rival club.
Arteta may also have plans to restore Ramsdale to the starting XI, especially given that Raya has not looked especially assured since arriving in north London from the Bees.
Whether the manager intends to do this or not, Ramsdale may well be confident that he can get back into the team and will have opportunities in cup competitions as well.
Arsenal have Champions League football, which Chelsea do not, and appear likely to mount something of a Premier League title challenge, which the Blues remain someway off.
Ramsdale wasn’t involved in the Arsenal squad at all on Saturday, pulling out at the last minute as his wife gave birth to their son.
