are interested in snapping up teenage striker Khayon Edwards and have made contact with the youngster over a potential move this summer.
The Blues are not the only team interested in the 18-year-old, with Goal.com reporting that Brighton, Leeds and Southampton are also keen, while clubs in Germany have also been alerted to his talents.
The striker has enjoyed a superb season at youth level, scoring 17 goals in 22 games across the age ranges, while also laying on six assists.
Edwards is yet to sign professional terms with the Gunners and can leave on a free transfer this summer, although Arsenal would be due compensation if he were to leave.
Chelsea are still unable to sign any players due to the sanctions placed on owner Roman Abramovich, so they are not in a position to do a deal with Edwards until the sale of the club is complete.
However, the report from Goal states that the youngster has grown up as a fan of the Blues, so they may have an advantage over their rivals on that front as and when they can bring him in.
Arsenal want to keep hold of one of their brightest talents and have been in talks over a new contract for some time.
They still hope to convince him to stay and fend off the interest from elsewhere as they continue talks with Edwards’ agent, who also represents Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners are desperate to rustle up a new deal for Saka, possibly their most valuable asset, who is out of contract in 2024.
