have rejected a £30 million offer from Brighton for Levi Colwill, according to reports.
The 20-year-old has impressed during his loan spell with Roberto De Zerbi’s side this season and has attracted interest from several clubs including and Liverpool.
Brighton have made the first move with a £30m bid for the centre-back, however, reports that their proposal has been turned down by Chelsea.
The report claims that Chelsea ‘have no plans’ to sell Colwill this summer – indicating that he is part of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans at Stamford Bridge.
Colwill came through Chelsea’s academy but has not made a first-team appearance for the club.
But the 20-year-old faces strong competition for a place next season as Chelsea still have Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana as options in central defence.
, De Zerbi made it clear that Brighton would find it difficult to replace Colwill if they were unable to reach a new agreement with Chelsea.
‘I would like to work with him for another two, three, four years,’ De Zerbi said.
‘It’s difficult to find a another centre-back, left centre-back, with his quality.
‘He’s a good guy, I think he’s improving a lot. This year his improvement has been fantastic.
‘I hope he can stay with us.’
